The Secretary's Report was Tabled.

Treasurer's Report. Peter Zaremba States that there is about 1,300 in the Affiliate Treasury.  Marcus Simmons moves and Dave 
Robinson seconds the Treasurers Report.



National Convention Wrap up

Sails at the Michigan table brought in  about $1,000.

Marcus Simmons presentation was excellent.

Other reports were given.



College policy

The deadline to submit comments to Jerry Taeckens has been extended to Monday July 19.

Fred Wurtzel provided in-depth analysis of the commission's college policy during the college policy meeting. Jerry Taeckens wants 
him to write down his comments.

Elizabeth Mohnke and others are opposed to having a deleg form means test included in the college policy

Forms can be used to summarize financial information but this form should not be part of the college policy

Time lines for completing an educational program should be time and a half and exceptions should be allowed.

This is in line with what the federal financial aid office uses.

Dave Robinson made a motion to oppose the inclusion of the dleg form in the college policy. Christine Boone moves and Mike Powell 
seconds the motion.

Youth outreach.

bridge walk. So far, twenty  people plan to attend.

There are forty spots available. The cost is $75 per person. Lodging and 6 of the 10 meals are included. Groups will

leave from Lansing and Dearborn.

All adults will be paired with a child or group of children.

Christine Boone's hearing on Friday.

It was a pre arbitration conference. A mediation agreement could not be reached so the process for obtaining an arbitrator will 
commence.

Commission board members

A long discussion ensued.

Mike Geno and Margret Wolf were rejected by the Senate for a new term.

Jennifer Granholm might try to reappoint them after the election.

A Senator's aid talked to Fred Wurtzel, Christine Boone and Larry Posont. They discussed the feasibility of the NFB of Michigan 
getting oversight of the people who are going on the commission for the blind board.

They also discussed the negative effects of Term limits

The senator is going to make some inquiries about the BEP program and the firing of Dave Robinson and Christine Boone.

the legislative committee will put materials together to present to the senators and representatives in January.

Fundraising license.

Every thing is ready.

The incorporation license payments have been brought up to date.

The past 4 years have been paid for.





Update on up coming meetings.

Commission for the Blind Special Board Meeting July 20.

This is a  meeting held via phone, to discuss the open meetings act and 3 BEP cases.

Information about this meeting is on the mcb web page.

Bep ad hock Committee Meeting July 21.

Update on Open Meetings Issue.

Final paper work has been completed.

Filed petitions  should be served next week.

A long discussion ensued.

The next commission board meeting is august 27.

The NFBMI Quarterly Board Meeting will be held on  August 28.

It will be at the same hotel as the state convention. The starting time is 10:00 P.M. and it will end about 3 or 4 in the afternoon.

A picnic will be held at Larry Posont's house after the meeting. The cost will be $10 per person.

State convention will be October 29 through 31.

No national representative has been assigned.

Work on senior seminar.

Try to get Ron Gardner to help.

You will soon be able to register for the hotel on the state web page.

A student seminar is proposed

The primary winners for the governors race will be invited.

Donna Posont is in charge of door prizes/donations.





Various Grant proposals are due September 15.

Nfb camps at camp T are going very well.

The Western Wane County picnic is on August 14 at Donna Posont's house

The Lansing picnic is on August 7 at Fred Wurtzel's house

The merchants division has been meeting every month. The next meeting is the morning of August 24 at the city library in Lansing.

New Business:

Start thinking about transportation to the 2011 national convention.

Should we add new products to the Michigan table?

Make sure that wee have coffee next year.

The next meeting is July 29.
