Job Announcement

Title: Director, Adult and Transition Services

Term: Full-Time

Salary: $55,000 to 65,000 annually, depending on experience

The manager of this department directs one of the country’s most
forward thinking and innovative comprehensive rehabilitation
programs in a nationally recognized non-profit organization serving
people who are blind and visually impaired.  Applicants should
have a desire to work in a fast-paced autonomous environment and be
driven to ensuring clients reach their vocational and academic
goals.

Overview of job duties:
§ Day-to-day management of the department
§ Ensure clients achieve their vocational and academic goals
§ Stay current in rehabilitation education and technology trends as
they relate to people with vision loss
§ Conduct on-going program improvement and innovation
§ Staff development
§ Participate in the creation of grant and RFP proposals
§ Budget management
§ Community liaison

Minimum Qualifications:

§ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a
major in Education, Rehabilitation, counseling, social work,
psychology, or related field (Master’s degree and CRC preferred).

§ Two years’ experience in the management of transition/rehabilitation
programs/departments (experience in the vision field
preferred).

§ Knowledge of vocational rehabilitation and educational systems
including understanding of state and federal laws, regulations and
policies related to student/client services.

§ Demonstrated ability to promote and establish new and improved
services and develop and implement policies and procedures.

§ Ability to obtain valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card.

§ Demonstrated leadership experience in data driven decision-making
and ability to lead others.

§ Evidence of ability to effectively use technology to perform duties
and to drive technology as a part of client’s program of
services.

§ Effective presentation skills.

§ Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work
effectively with staff and community.

§ Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the executive team
may find appropriate and acceptable.
