This letter/email is in response to your June 21, 2011, email request to the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), Michigan Commission for the Blind (MCB) for copies of records you describe as:

 

"-a DVD of the video recording of the June 17, 2011 MCB general meeting on a

  thumb drive or similar medium sent to my address above

-the audio recording of the same meeting in similar manner

-the audio recording of the June 16, 2011 budget and PA 260 meeting

-and the draft meeting minutes of the June 17, 2010 MCB meeting as a Word

 attachment sent to my e-mail address listed above."

 

Please be informed that the LARA/MCB is processing this request under the state's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), MCL 15.231, et seq. Thusly, in order to search for all nonexempt information/records within the Department that might be responsive to your request as well as to determine any processing costs to comply with portions of your request (DVD of video recording), it is necessary to extend the time for response regarding some of the requested records, pursuant to MCL 15.235, Section 5(2)(d) of the FOIA, to by or before July 13, 2011.

 

The DVD video recording you requested was produced by a separate agency of the LARA and will require time to make a copy of the video recording as well as to determine the estimated costs to produce it in the requested accessible format.

However, the LARA/MCB will grant the following portions of your requests:

 

--       The audio recording of the June 17, 2011 MCB general meeting is available on-line by going to www.michigan.gov/mcb, then clicking on         Events Calendar, then clicking on June 17, 2011 (Live Audio Streaming: MCB Commission Board Meeting in Lansing June 17, 2011).

 

--       The audio recording of the June 16, 2011 budget and PA 260 meeting will        be copied and sent to you on a thumb drive under separate cover.

 

--       The draft minutes of the June 17, 2011 MCB meeting will be sent to you via email when completed.
