[nfbmi-talk] what does it mean, what did he mean?

For all the years I've been back in Michigan I've seen the powers that be
manipulate the program to content people with simply "having a seat at the
table". That is and has been the dog and pony show of the so-called "Vision
Twenty-Twenty" project. It was, is and will always be all sizzle and no
steak. Now, the real issue here is whether or not MCB is going to finally
follow all the laws that bind them, and indeed create them including the
Rehab Act, PA 260, The Randolph Shepard Act, and a slew of state laws. And
ultimately, the bottom line is that MCB must once again become a consumer
friendly place that focuses on habilitation, and rehabilitation of
Michigan's blind folks so that we of working age can be productively
employed and so that others not of working age have the skills of
independent living.
And the job of the MCB board is supposed to be ensuring access, openness,
transparency, and accountability in these regards. I'm now confident that
the latter will take place.
Thus, I think the comments here are just spurious and don't take into
account the complete breakdown of MCB under the currently constituted board
with you know who running things really from behind the curtain like the
Wizard of Odd.
Peace,
Joe
