[nfbmi-talk] On Body Language

I'm not saying thatbody language doesn't exist. And I'm a big fan of video
description, and for that matter radio, and other descriptive services. But,
in every case sighted folks cannot describe every event, and should not be
obliged to do so. It is simply impossable and, we should not always put upon
every sighted person the responsability in my opinion to do this.

On the other hand I certainly am appalled when people consciously use the
lack of sight against us as in this case to do sneaky things. And am
grateful once again for other goodly sighted people for pointing this out.

Wow, in this case we had a major player for the commission, Connie Zanger
and a Michigan assistent attorney general trying to play our blindness
against us at of all things a commission for the blind meeting. And the
audio more than sucked in this meeting.

God bless the good sighted folks like Lydia and Doug Boone, to name a few
for pointing this stuff out.

Well, then the solution is simple. Then you know I'm not ignoring that body
language exists. I know it but you see it is the sighted person's job to
realize that yes can do body language. But yet they have to describe you
know what they are doing because they have to be conscious of that there is
a blind person who is in the room because it's not our job to say what do
they are doing every time. I mean it's gonna scare people often. I feel
awkward doing that you know or if you have sighted friend with you they
would tell you what they are doing, you know and stuff like that. So, yeah.
I do realize body language exists. Does it matter to me? No. Not really. I
would much prefer sound because that means a great deal to me. I judged by
the tone of the person's voice anyway.
