There is a great resource of blind people who have used the Michigan 
Commission for the Blind.  I have made friends from all over the 
country and the Michigan Commission for the Blind Learning Center is 
one of the best.

However after leaving the Learning Center for some of us who do not 
want employment, feeling independent needs to be nurished.  What a grat 
way to do this with volunteers on projects others do not have the time 
to fill.  Transportation is the biggest issue but with some out of the 
box ideas, there must be an answer.

Help make everyone on the Board and Staff open to using this volunteer 
resource to strengthen all their efforts.
