Oh he's been an Oakland Schools Board member and still is voting on "cash match" programs with MCB and MRS. Then taking fee for service to his NISH operation with sub-minimum wage waivers and running Able One programs...
This is the Executive Vice President of New Horizons Rehabilitation Services of RSA monitoring report fame. The conflicts with MRS are even worse than those with MCB.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OAKLAND SCHOOLS BOARD VICE PRESIDENT

TO RECEIVE MRC EXCELLENCE AWARD

Ronald N. Storing To Be Honored For Commitment To Those

With Barriers to Employment

WATERFORD, MI - October 16, 2007 – At the Michigan Rehabilitation

Association Conference, sponsored by the National & Michigan Rehabilitation

Associations on October 24-26 in Grand Rapids, Ronald N. Storing, Vice

President of Rehabilitation at New Horizons, Inc. and Vice President of the

Oakland Schools Board of Education, will receive the 2007 Michigan

Rehabilitation Conference Excellence award, given to individuals or

organizations who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, effectiveness,

creativity, advocacy, and commitment on behalf of persons with disabilities and

other barriers to employment. Nominees for the award have made significant

impact on service delivery systems, served as examples of what can be

accomplished, provided leadership, or created innovative opportunities for

individuals.

The Michigan Rehabilitation Association characterizes Storing as having “a long,

distinguished career in public service especially in the field of rehabilitation. He is

highly committed to assisting people with disabilities. He is a champion for

citizens disadvantaged by economic, educational or physical/mental

characteristics.”

Storing has actively pursued grants, United Way dollars and other funding

methods to expand program offerings and services to Social Security recipients,

youth and adult job seekers. In partnership with Michigan Rehabilitation Services

and the Michigan Commission For the Blind, he has developed and expanded

transition services for disabled youth in Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair and Wayne

Counties. Thanks in large part to his efforts, young people with severe disabilities

such as blindness, deafness, autism, learning hurdles, etc. have programs

available to prepare for work.

“It is an honor for Oakland Schools to have a board member recognized for his

dedication to and tireless efforts on behalf of those who face employment

challenges because of their disabilities,” said Dr. Vickie L. Markavitch,

Superintendent, Oakland Schools. “Mr. Storing’s commitment mirrors that of the

intermediate school district in providing opportunities to students with disabilities.”

A biography and photo of Mr. Storing are posted on the Oakland Schools website

at www.oakland.k12.mi.us under “About Us” then “Board of Education.” For

more information, please contact Shelley Yorke Rose, Communication Services,
