Before I knew Fred as a Federationist, I knew him as a High School Senior at
MSB; he was know as "Fearless Fred" and he's still fearless. He was a coach
of an intramural wrestling team I was on as was Fred Olver, another
Federationist was an opponent of mine. Our President was also a teammate of
mine on the same team. I won't tell my record on this list., but I had no
draws.

I also appreciate the way Fred and Mary Wurtzel work tirelessly to change
what it is to be blind in Michigan. Before I met anyone
else in Michigan in the Federation, I met the Wurtzels. Their friendliness
drew me to the Federation and they encouraged me to
realize that blindness should not stop me from following my dreams. I will
work side by side with the Wurtzels to change what it is
to be blind in Michigan.
