It look like TC is in the running for my relocation. However, it seem like
there's no NFB chapter in that area. TC has slitely better transportation
than Lansing and Grand Rapids.

Dear Pat,

It sounds like you have a great town to live in and enjoy it very much.
I would invite you to come over to Grand Rapids on Saturday, September 14
and join us at the International House of Pancakes at 5039 28th St. The NFB
of Michigan is starting a new chapter and reaching out to blind and visually
impaired persons and those interested in blindness in the greater Grand
Rapids area. We have much to offer and we have much to do to help the
blind of Michigan and we would welcome you to be a part of our effort.
Also, we do have a members at large chapter for those not living in an
area where a chapter exists. Write me at (drob1946 at gmail.com) for more
information about this chapter.
Hope to see you on September 14, but if not, I hope you can make our
convention October 18-20.

Cordially,

Dave Robinson

Hello, I live in Holland, which is along Lake Michigan. It is a great small
town with many of the benefits of a large city in a much smaller setting.
It was just listed as one of the top 15 pretties towns in America by Forbes.
The bus system run it's regular routes 7 to 7 Monday thru Saturday free with
their ADA card or age of 60 plus. Also door to door service for $3 each way
during these hours. Their is a night route that is limited, mainly for
employment not night out. I walk to my gym, hot yoga classes, doctor and
the library, but use the bus system when weather dictates. We don't have
any talking crossing signals. We have snowmelt sidewalks downtown which
allows for walking downtown year round which has some neat shops and
restaurants. The transit center is at the same location as the Indian
Trails and Amtrak depot.

Personally speaking (sorry), transportation is important, but if we looking
to relocate the others would be just as important. Housing, medical,
church, crime, employment, social group, shopping, school systems, arts,
social groups, ect.

Good Luck,
Pat Harring

Where is Mt. Pleasant? I haven't heard of that town. Anybody live in West
MI. Just asking. I'm assuming there's no such thing as public
transportation. If one live in W. MI. and can't drive, you're out of luck.
Lol.

I wonder how transit service is in Mt. Pleasant these days? I went to CMU
in the 70s, and they had dial-a-ride transit in those days.
