It would be the DSU wouldn't it? Grin...
Regardless we had one and that was and still is the Michigan Commission for
the Blind.
I and others will fight to restore it according to our principles and as per
our NFB resolutions.
BTW the RSA saw fit to rubber stamp the illegal designation of authorities
to the DSA being LARA in rubber stamping the illegal state plan and vesting
non-delagable authorities to the Designated State Agency (again LARA) and
non-VR entity (namely Zimmer and Arwood).
Regardless, the only way things will change is when these scofflaws are sued
back to the dark ages where they came from.
As per Lydia's comments about credentials and all that...Well what
credentials does Arwood, Zimmer, Rodgers or Pemble have?
None!
Nono offense to my brothers and sisters with native American heritage here
but this system is made up of all chiefs and few Indians. And credentials
are required of the few Indians but not the Chiefs.
Shoot for that matter Pat Cannon who headed the old Designated State Unit
(MCB) didn't even have a college degree.
Now don't get me wrong here on the credential issue for I personally think
experience is very important and frankly I don't give a hoot about formal
credentials though I have a few myself.
Anyway don't you all know enough by now not to get me going? Smile...
My Lord there are so many violations of the ADA, 504, the general provisions
of the Rehab Act, the FOIA, the Oma, and likely local pet ordinances and
parking violations to go around don't you all think?
Pick a card ... Pick any card this lovely State of Michigan has violated
them all when it comes to the blind and others with disabilities.
It violates fundamental principles of due process, equal protection under
law. It violates common sense.
