It's time to start thinking about Washington Seminar 2014.
This is the NFB's biggest legislative event, and gives us and other
members from across the country the opportunity to speak to our
legislators and discuss the issues of most importance to us.
Currently, this means important issues like getting rid of the
subminimum wage requirements and fighting for accessible technology,
among othres.
Whether you have attended often or have never gone, we'd love to hear
from you. Here's what you need to know
The Great Gathering meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 27th at 5
PM. Appointments for Michigan are generally scheduled on Tuesday and
Wednesday. If you wish to receive affiliate assistance, I would ask that
you plan to arrive by early afternoon on Monday and plan to leave no
earlier than 5 PM on Wednesday. If you wish to attend the Students,
parents, or other meetings, you'll want to arrive earlier.
I'm happy to help you find affordable transportation between Michigan
and DC Reagan or Baltimore. Tickets in the $200 range are quite common.
Other than that, all I ask is that you are committed to the affiliate
and will attend all scheduled appointments assigned to you.
The affiliate has allocated funds for one male and one female room for
up to three nights. Some financial assistance was also authorized and is
available at the disgression of the president.
If you wish to attend, please email jj at bestmidi.com by December 15 with
the following:
Your name
Phone number:
Have you attended before?
What is your prefered dates of arrival and departure?
Would you like to request financial assistance?
If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a mesage.
Washington Seminar is truly an eye-opening and empowering experience,
and I hope you consider attending.
