[nfbmi-talk] job opratunities for youth

While I certainly agree with all of you there is another issue documented in
the public record in yesterday's BSBP meeting and that is the documented
experience of several parents of blind youth to get any meaningful
assistence in these regards (i.e. a job in the real world) from BSBP
staff....

It was heartbreaking to here of the experiences and in fact the lack of even
notifying parents of CAP rights as well in these arbitrary decisions.

Of course Rodgers et al will probably try to charge one quaddrizzion dollars
or something like that for existing transcripts and recordings in stark
violation of several laws.

Most parents according to testimony wring their hands and don't wish to have
anything to do with BSBP.

Yet, the transition services are right in the Rehab Act, clearly defined.

One parent by the way was told flat out that her child could not get
services at NFB, Inc. and then made to take an assessment at Jewish
Vocational Services which is a Section 14 C certificate holder.

All these clowns especially in Wayne County do is feed the CRP beast on
transition services which all know are more than willing to take these
federal dollars and which have numerous conflicts of interests with the
Detroit Region including McNeal's continued "service" on the board of New
Horizons where she has authorized more than one hundred thousand dollars
from BSBP to them (another 14 c holder) to date during this fiscal year.

Look I'll say it;: These folks are crooks in BSBP, documented crooks in
their flagrent misappropiation of federal funds, outright conflicts of
interest, and their failure to perform in any meaningful manner in
accordance with the federal law of the land which is again the Rehab Act.

By the way if sighted parents have so many documented problems just think
how blind adults and the blind youth think about this.

It's all a catch 22 and the hacks get richer off our experiences while we
get nothing.

Here Terry and Georgia while not being totally specific and just colleagues
gave better advise than most BSBP counselors, let alone the utterly
incompetent and abusive higher ups.

People have to get copies of the transcripts/recording of yesterday's
meeting to really know what I'm alluding to but it was a scathing attack
upon the system in BSBP.
