[nfbmi-talk] Proposed Mailing List Policy

Hello David,

Fundamentally, I agree with you. I do not find it necessary to se 3 or 4 of
the same messages in a row on the same topic to the same people as adding
anything to my knowledge. After all, how many rejections of perfectly
reasonable FOIA requests do we need to see to get the idea that the agency
is corrupt and not cooperative with blind consumers. Most of us are pretty
sharp people. We do not need a hundred examples before we get the point.
If we wish to build a record in a public venue, perhaps we could start a new
list for that purpose. To me this is a much narrower and specialized
endeavor. If a public record is the point, then, we could easily
accommodate that without filling up our list with this material. Again,,
clearly, there are differences of opinion on the best use for andd content
on, our NFBMI list. It is my own opinion that we are not making best use of
our list and that is not benefiting our members or our public outreach
possibilities as it is currently operating.

Warmest Regards,

Fred

Dear Fred,

As a member and a NFB of Michigan board member, I appreciate all the
information I recieve from the list. It may be a lot of information but
most of it is very important for us, as leaders in the NFBMi, to understand
and learn. I choose to take all information on the list and absorb what I
want and disgard what i not. For me, the more information the better, and
please don't forget it is my right to post information even though it may
not be important to you. I place different information into different
folders sometimes thinking even though this information is not new or
critical at the moment, it may be of use at some point.
I for one would welcome even more postings from members on information
that is important to them. We all have to keep our own mailbox inorder and
not expect someone to do it for us.

Dave
