Yes, viviolating of the OMA is a crime. And BSBP, now the MI SILC and MPAS along with several CILs violate the OMA over and over again. In fact under the OMA which is applicable to all of these publicly funded entities failures to produce minutes within eight working days is a violation and how many times have we seen that violation alone, let alone the violations of accessible meetings and meeting related information required under Section 504 and the ADA.

There should be charges filed against the scofflaws who purportedly serve we People with Disabilities with Rehab Act funds and who refuse access and accountability.

Charges filed in open meetings flap in Michigan NEW BUFFALO, Mich. Three members of a city council in southwestern Michigan are accused of violating state

law by deciding to fire the city manager in private. The Berrien County prosecutor says Peter Weber, Donna Messinger and George Scarlitis are charged with

a misdemeanor. They're due in court by Wednesday. Over objections by residents, William "Rusty" Geisler was fired by the New Buffalo City Council on Aug.

18. But prosecutor Michael Sepic says his dismissal actually was hatched in private 12 days earlier. Messages seeking comment from Weber, Messinger and

Scarlitis were not immediately returned Saturday. The misdemeanor carries a maximum fine of $1,000. Copyright 2014 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
