This would be a nice job for a process engineer who happens to be blind or otherwise disabled. Oops there are vision requirements and walking, and crawling requirements which shouldn't be an essential function of this job.

I also wonder out loud if all it systems used by this CRP are accessable to PWD. I sure in the heck doubt it.

Job Description

 

The Process Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise with regards to equipment, technical processes, guidelines, safety protocol, and troubleshooting

in manufacturing apparel.  They will work closely with professionals throughout our Apparel Manufacturing division and participate in process implementation

efforts.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

1. Develop technical processes, troubleshooting methodology, and manufacturing specifications for apparel and general manufacturing.

2. Responsible for establishing manufacturing performance objectives and associated key performance indicators and accountable for performance results.

3. Technical responsibility for optimizing the performance of processes and equipment in the most cost effective manner.

4. Develop Work Instruction, Process Control plan, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.

5. Lead operator training initiatives for technical equipment and processes.

6. Engineer high-performance processes of apparel and components to include desired function, construction, fit, manufacturability, and quality standards.

7. Develop and apply prevention-based quality assurance tools and processes to ensure processes and products meet company, product safety, and legal/government

requirements.

8. Evaluate new and innovative concepts and processes for sub-assembly, product manufacturing, and marketing suitability.

9. Assist with skill development for new technology introduced into the manufacturing environment.

10.  Job success will favorably impact division metrics such as retention, productivity, scrap, First Time Capability (FTC), unscheduled downtime, and absenteeism.

 

11.  Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls and sensing devices.

 

12.  Participates in estimating job costs including motion and time study analysis.

 

13.  Supports ISO-9000, TS-16949, and Peckham, Inc. Quality Management Systems requirements.

 

14.  Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.

 

15.  Uses LEAN concepts and participates in LEAN culture including continuous improvement, waste reduction, poke-a-yoke, and error proofing.

 

16.  Utilize a team work approach for all projects.

 

17.  Promote Peckham’s vision, values, and services to all customers and stakeholders.

 

18.  Assist in maintaining organization wide quality standards.

 

19.  Maintain a safe work area.

 

20.  Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

 

This position requires passing and maintaining security background checks.  Must have access to reliable transportation.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

List of 5 items

1. Must be a team player.

2. Ability to adapt effective communications skills to diverse range of people and unique situations to achieve complex objectives.

3. Strong organizational skills.

4. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products.

5. Prefer experience utilizing Six Sigma and / or Lean methodologies.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

 

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Textiles, or a related field. Five years’ experience as Process Engineer or Product

Engineer or similar position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience with polymer-based fibers and adhesives a plus.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability

to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers,

consumers, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio,

and percent.  Draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret

a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.  The

employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch,

or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance

vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is

usually moderate.
