Hello. The below message comes on the heels of a revitalized push for
better transit in Southeast Michigan. In addition to the NFB of Michigan
hopefully getting involved, there are some opportunities here for
individuals to help out including internships for students with class
credits this summer.

If you have any ideas of how we should get involved as an organization,
please reply here or Email vp at nfbmi.org

Hi Jason!

As you know, the fight for regional transit is heating up, with a newly
proposed plan

and big name new supporters

It's still an uphill battle, but with your help, we can win!!

*/Can you get more involved in this effort, Jason?/*

We need volunteers who can give anywhere from an hour a month to 20
hours a week. Volunteer roles include:

  * *Summer interns
    <http://click.actionnetwork.org/mpss/c/BAE/ni0YAA/t.2gn/6RP60762QDOdDAKzrSdTWQ/h2/eMILwbW6IrCSouwXum20py-2BtieYZ5ohQByayH05lxwH1ER5Ay6OyoYUykPlJAK2BImyI13j7AcLmX47w-2BmRfzSRp93emKb4zC7gmE8yAeqL0sw9cLgfmqmHrE-2B5dLQXzZ9-2BUs7UTgWwKQmm43SpeIs2bS8xw-2B9iVx6zcdRJmFY52tFPbfrEbxP9LBPK-2Bo2LjH3X8hagqilGxQdi2whbfYFrmPR8qUnYh3PUbz0N3lkQgqQ9XDxvoV5njO9kyZkMgvBkpd-2FpyueWuCcHSiuvxkLoiOhnCkrLnbcjh1FtD5hBfCyQ3uUkbeb7RF2uTjWX5ZrHTG0-2BJOsfS0QtVOaKkrhS3vKWzABe-2Fn27swTMdR7RyTDgB3bl5-2FOQjEy4HCDnR>*
to spend 15-20 hours a week working on the front lines of the fight
for transit to build and mobilize transit supporters (course credit
    and stipend available)
  * *Peer-to-Peer Presenters* to be trained to share the new transit
plan with community groups and get them involved in making it better
(requires great public speaking skills and 3-5 hours/month)
  * *Transit Listening Tour Logistics Team *members to arrange
presentations with community groups throughout the region
  * *Transit Outreach Team *members to identify and mobilize
transit-supportive groups, businesses, and leaders (great role for
    networkers)
  * *Social Media Action Team* members to help develop and share
engaging transit content across Facebook, Twitter, and possibly
    Instagram
  * *Office / Database volunteers* - help TRU efficiently keep track of
transit supporters so we can keep everyone updated and involved

Please email me at info at DetroitTransit.org with how you feel you can
best help. And if you haven't please, complete our brief transit
interest survey

And please share this with anyone else you know who might want to get
involved.

Thanks for everything you do!
