[NFBMI-Talk] Accommodations for Jury Duty

Hello Fred,

I do not understand why such a harsh tone is necessary here. I have heard of other states providing accommodations to fill out forms for jury duty. So I was just wondering what this experience might be for others here in Michigan.

As I understand it, reasonable accommondations apply to state government. So I am simply wondering what accommodations other people in Michigan have been able to receive for jury duty before unnecessarily subjecting myself to the possibility of contracting a very contagious and deadly disease.

Warm regards,
Elizabeth

Elizabeth, this may sound harsh, but would you rather go to jail? Just have somebody who you are in touch with to go through your mail on a regular basis help you fill out the form and be done with it

I have also contacted the clerk to let her know that I was blind and currently do not have a way to fill out the print form. However, there was nothing about accessibility listed online. And the clerk did not mention any accommodations for filling out the print form in here her response to me.

Since the courts are currently closed under the stay home stay safe order, and this is not an essencial business related to obtaining food or medicine,I do not believe I should have to be in contact with someone else simply to fill out this form that is not accessible.
