Materials for SAVS

We will be performing 3experiments along with other items. Below are
materials for each and feel free to prepare to participate in all 3 or any
of the 3 experiments.

Coffee beans from Jaku bird

1.	Tootsie pop
2.	Lime juice, about 4 ounces, lemon juice can substitute
3.	1 glass or coffee cup

 

Soil Significance

4.	coffee cups-4
5.	scissors
6.	¼ measuring cup
7.	4 coffee filters
8.	Four rubber bands
9.	¼ cup sand
10.	¼ cup dirt or potting soil or compost
11.	¼ cup clay powder or corn starch or oats
12.	Diaper
13.	2 cups water

 

 

ICE CREAM IN A BAG

 

INGREDIENTS:

Winter type gloves or oven mits  (not sanitary gloves) gloves

 

1 – Quart size zip lock bag

1 – Gallon size zip lock bag

Ice

.25 cup Coarse salt (finer salt is ok)

1 – Cup half and half, whole milk or cream1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 tablespoon sugar

 

 

DIRECTIONS:

 

Pour half and half in quart bag

 

Add vanilla and sugar to half and half

Seal bag firmly and exclude extra air.

Seal bag securely

Fill gallon bag halfway with ice

Add salt

Add cream mixture

Fill bag with more ice

Seal gallon bag

Put on gloves

Shake bag for six minutes Open gallon bag

Remove ice cream

Rinse quart bag thoroughly especially top of bag where the seal is to remove
all saltwater and salt

Open quart bag

Ice cream will seem icy

Use a spoon to stir

Put in bowls and add any toppings you may prefer.
