Below is my message from last week reminding  of the upcoming phone
conferences.

Greetings to all on this list.

I am writing to invite anyone who is interested to participate in a
telephone conference call with me by way of our Michigan Zoom Room so I can
give an update on everything that has been going on in our affiliate and
what is up and coming as we plan for our first in person convention since
2019.   We all need to have our imprint on making this year's upcoming state
convention the best it can be to celebrate our being together again.  Some
of you may remember that in 2020 we managed to get our first quarterly board
meeting behind us which turned out to be the only in person meeting we would
be able to have that year.  A few weeks after our March 7 board meeting in
Lansing the state of Michigan went into lockdown.  Through all of that new
reality we acquired a Michigan Zoom Room and we learned to use the
application so we could continue to hold meetings and stay connected.
This, as you know, got us through two virtual national conventions , two
state conventions, and we were able to keep our chapters active and
information flowing regularly .

On August 20 of this year we had enough board members who were able to
appear in person at our state convention hotel in Grand Rapids where we
conducted enough of the business of our federation to give the go ahead to
making the necessary arrangements to plan the convention.  This meeting was
held at a time when certain complications and circumstances made it
necessary to make alternate transportation arrangements at the last minute
and I am grateful for the assistance I received from the board with my
particular situation.      We were not able to host this meeting on Zoom but
it is my policy to continue to   use the Zoom platform as much as we can to
pass on information.  .  

This is why am inviting you to a phone conference on Zoom where I can update
you so you will be able to participate to the fullest extent possible in
volunteering your time and energy to make this convention one of our best
ever.  After all, without the federation family working together we couldn't
do the many things we do that make us different from other blindness
organizations.  

Since this will not be a business meeting it should only last an hour at
most depending on what kind of discussion we may get into.

I propose to have this Zoom conference Saturday, September 10, at 1: PM in
our Michigan Zoom room.

I would also be available to hopping on Sunday evening, September 11, at
7:00 PM if that works better for those whose Saturdays may be tied up.  I
choose Sunday the 11th  as an alternative rather than a week day so we don't
interfere with other meetings that may need to use our Michigan Zoom room
during the week.  I am always available, as most of you know, to receive
phone calls if you would like to talk with me personally.

There are a number of things that are in the works for our affiliate so it
is important that you know about them.

I request that all chapter presidents,  or their other officers and board
members if the president is not able, to pass this information to your
chapter members if they are not on this list.

Below is the Zoom room information and my contact information will appear
after my name.

So if all goes as I hope I will be meeting with you Saturday, September 10,
at 1 PM.  If you can't make that one I will be available in the Zoom room
Sunday evening, September 11, at 7 PM for anyone who may choose to meet with
me then.  I will wait in our room for about 20 minutes and if no one comes
in I will assume that the meeting the day before met your needs or you will
be calling me individually. 

As I previously stated this is not a business meeting of the board so we can
be informal and casual about the exchange of information.  Our Michigan Zoom
room link and ID follows along with my contact information.

Thank you for giving your time and talents to promote our Michigan affiliate
and I am definitely looking forward to meeting and working with all of you.
