Hello  Mary Ann,

I have seen a talking thermostat from the Independence Market at the National Federation of the Blind. The description does not mention anything about needing an internet connection or a smart phone to use it.

I have also seen talking thermostats advertised through Consumers Energy as a way to save money on heating bills. They have a number of different models at various price points. 

Hopefully these options point you in the direction for something that works for you.

Minnesota that is now out of business.  Does anyone know of a comparable
thermostat?  If so, where can one be purchased?
