Good day Federation family and friends,

As we prepare for the 2024 National Federation of the Blind of Michigan
(NFBMI) State Convention, we are excited to share some of the key highlights
you won't want to miss! The event kicks off on October 31, and in the weeks
leading up to it, we will be posting information from sponsors and
exhibitors like Michigan Department of Education Low incidence Outreach
(MDE-LIO), one of our gold sponsors. Keep an eye out for these updates to
learn more about other amazing products, services, and opportunities that
will be available during the event. This year's convention promises to be a
memorable experience filled with networking, learning, and opportunities to
support the blind people's movement. As always, we encourage you to share
information about our state convention with your family and friends! If you
are posting on social media, please use our hashtag for this year, which is
NFBMI24

MDE-LIO, based in Lansing, MI, is dedicated to ensuring equal access to
quality education for all students who are Blind/Visually Impaired (BVI)
and/or Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH). Their services include:

*	Workshops and events for families and educators
*	Braille, large print, and digital books for students
*	American Printing House for the Blind (APH) Federal Quota products
and textbooks
*	Professional development materials and guides for educators

We are also excited to share that Roxanne Balfour will be speaking during
our General Session on Saturday, November 2, 2024. She will be speaking to
us about continuing effective education for blind and low vision youth, a
critical topic in advancing the educational opportunities for our community.
