Seems like I am slow at reading this article, but I have done so now.  I 
thought some of it was very good, but some of it I find very difficult to 
swallow.  Those of us who read Braille don't go around demeaning those who 
read print.  Shame on the blind people who build themselves up by  trying to 
make Braille obsolete.  For me Braille has been essential in my leisure, my 
education, and my career.  I find it pleasing to virtually always have 
something in Braille with me, usually in the form of a volume of Braille.  I 
was especially interested in the research which has been done about what 
part of the brain is used by blind readers.  Some of that research is being 
done at Wash. U, here is St. Louis.  Dr. Harold Burton has been involved in 
the research for about ten years.  Quite a number of Braillle readers here 
have participated in those studies.  Don't think for a minute that I don't 
use audio reading, but when given a choice, I will always choose Braille.
