Gary,
    Since Wichita and Des Moines are equidistant from KC.  I just checked
outthemap and saw that Des Moines is smack dab in the middle of Iowa, it's
still closer to St. Louis than Wichita - so is Columbia.  I could drive to
Columbia, pick up some Columbians and drive up to Des Moines if there is no
more direct route from St. Louis.  Since we have to be there at 9;30, I
think this would have to be an overnighter.  It would probably still be
cheaper than flying people there for the day.
