First, this will be set up using the affiliate’s pay pal account so the
Treasurer can transfer the money directly.
Second, there will be no additional discount as suggested for using the
on-line system as it costs to provide this service and the affiliate cannot
absorb this cost.
Third, The fee will be charged per registrant and will be an even dollar
amount. The board approved $5.00 at last meeting when we were looking at
credit card and pay pal both. I see no reason that the figure can’t be
adjusted to say $3.00 but that will be a board decision.
And lastly, paper pre-registration deadline will remain March 15 but we may
be able to keep on-line registration open a bit longer due to the instant
nature of it.
There will be bugs in the system so all we can do is ask for patience this
first year.

hi,
no, the paypal fee and merchant credit card percentages have been three
percent for a long while plus 30 cents per transaction on paypal.
in that case, the heading should be called paypal fee if anything at all
because it shouldn't even be listed as you can use the hidden variable
called handling.
second, registration plus all three meals is $69 and the paypal fee equals
$2.37.

Last time I checked, the paypal fee was 1% or so of the actually cost of
an
item and if you say you are sending it to family, there was no fee at all.
Better I think to have the treasurer get a paypal account and send the
money
directly to her.

The convenience fee is to cover PayPal fee

You mean that in order to have the convenience of sending in registration
for the state convention online that an individual will need to pay a $5
convenience fee? Seems like it ought to be the other way around, or at
least a drop of say $2 for doing a registration online.
