The start of budget conference committees was delayed yesterday and rescheduled for this morning, though informal negotiations have been ongoing.  The House cut for health coverage for persons on Blind Pension will of course be one key area of contention.  Also, the House budget plan includes $70 million in anticipated revenue from a tax amnesty plan that requires legislative action.  The Senate does not include that revenue in its budget. Childcare subsidy funds cut by the Senate will be another issue, along with a cut by the Senate to early childhood education funds  The budget must be passed by one week from Friday (May 11).
