[Nfbmo] jaws tech question

SPSS stands for Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Along with
SAS (formerly Statistical Analysis system) these were the first two major
statistical analysis programming environments - still in use but vastly
extended to encompass a lot more.
I know that SAS was somewhat accessible to JAWS, not sure about SPSS.
They are not trivial programming environments and you have to have a
pretty good grasp of statistics to use them. SAS had great technical support -
I always got what I needed from them in a very timely fashion. I made my
living for 28 years using these programs.
It is not a Microsoft product but instead a separate package -
available for Windows, Macs and Unix variants. I would suggest contacting SPSS's
tech support. You might be able to use a non-GUI interface to work with
SPSS, but I have no idea if that's possible.

Bryan,
I've never heard what SPSS actually stands for. I can tell you it's the
microsoft statistical anyliser program. I'm using it for a class at UMSL.
Peace,
Cari
