Hello Gary and everyone,

Is she the same Melanie RuDell that had a vending facility in Nevada in
the mid 1980s?She was the subject of issues concerning the pull-out of
states from the BEP in the mid 1980s Montana and Nevada to be exact. We
worked with RSA to help her continue operating her facility in Nevada but
I'm not sure what ended up happening to vendors in Montana. I'd also be
curious to know of the BEP Programs have been reinstated in those two
states. I recall hearing Melody speak at the 1986 national convention but
don't remember if I ever met her in person. Her family will be in our
prayers.

Some of you may have known Melanie RuDell. She was a member of the Kansas
City chapter in the early 1970s and she and her husband John were the people
who gave me a ride to my first Kansas City chapter meeting. They also came
to visit me when I became a student at the University of Missouri Columbia.
I got a call from Melanie's son JJ this morning saying that Melanie had
passed during the night. I know that Melanie attended school with Bill Neal
and he tells me that Florence Neal used to look after Melanie when she was a
little girl.
