In Memory of

Ms. Melanie Star (Macaluso) Rudell, born March 23, 1947 passed away at
home Oct. 21,2012.

Melanie was born in Smithsville Mo. She is survived by her parents,
Russel and Carlyn Carson of Clarksdale MO, sister Dianna Ness and
family of Smithville MO, brother Gerry Carson and family of Kansas
City MO, Husband John, son J.J. along with her multitude of "Other
Children" and a host of friends from many states and countries around
the world.

She attended the Missouri School for the Blind in St. Louis, MO from
the age of 8 till she graduated in 1966. She was the first legally
blind cosmetologist in Missouri.

Her many hobbies and interests include listening to Talking books, crafts,
and
meeting people online as well as in person. An avid Hippopotamus
Collector, and Her love of cooking and trying new recipes will be long
remembered.

She was active in the VFW and Veterans Affairs. She held many
respectable offices in both organizations locally, district and
statewide. She also was active in the National Federation of the
Blind, the Wyoming Independent Living Board of Directors and was
appointed to the Wyoming Governor's Council for People With
Disabilities.

At Melanie's Request, a Potluck Luncheon to Celebrate her life are
planned for for Tues Oct 30; VFW Post 2551, 208 West Beaver Avenue,
Fort Morgan, CO 80701 from 11:30 - 3:00PM. Please Bring one covered
dish, that would feed 8-10 people, casual dress, and your most
favorite memory of this beloved woman.

Memorial Service will be held around November the 9th at the Oregon
Trail State Veterans Cemetery With another Potluck Celebration to
follow afterwards at VFW Post 9439, 1800 Bryan Stock Trail, Casper, WY
82601 (more details to follow)
