[Nfbmo] Fw: News - Walmart/iPhone5 - Big Day for Consumers: $45Monthly U...

Dan, of course I don't have the answers you want, but there is at the bottom
of the post, contact information probably for folks who could answer them. I
will say though that the $649 price-point for the Iphone 5 is one that the
Apple stores and other retailers are selling them for. The only reason you
are getting a discount is because you are a Sprint customer. Straight-talk
has been around for quite some time, ten years I think, nearly and they
haven't raised their rates in all that time. Actually, I'm thinking they are
a spinn-off of Verizon but I can't swear to it. Although they say there is
no contract, there is the phone to pay for, at $25 per month this would take
some 26 months. I can't imagine someone just letting an Iphone just sit
there while they are making payments. I'm sure there's a way for them to get
the money once you buy the phone, I just don't know what it is. Personally,
having been a Verizon customer for more years than I want to count, I don't
think my bank account wants to take that kind of a hit, and let's say you do
get the phone, to upgrade again say in two years would cost you that same
$649.
You might only be paying $70 a month including a phone payment, but I get my
phone for more than $300 less than you do, I get to sell it back when I want
to upgrade in about 20 months and they give me money for the phone I give
back, last time it was $140 for an Iphone 4, used it to pay one month's bill
and part of another.
