              Student Services Coordinator (working title:  Access Advisor)
Job Description:  
Under the direction of the Director for Disability Services, the Access
Advisor is responsible for facilitating all reasonable accommodations and
support services for students with disabilities enrolled at MU. The Access
Advisor will evaluate and determine students' eligibility for reasonable
accommodations relying on an interactive process as well as third party
documentation, as needed; manage an active caseload of students with
disabilities; provide expertise and technical assistance to students,
faculty, and other University personnel on disability/accommodation/access
issues and concerns; and, arrange and coordinate individualized
accommodations.  The Access Advisor will also act as the Office's first
contact with students and families, and as contact for campus faculty and
staff, to provide general information regarding office services and to
discuss student needs, both general and specific.  The Access Advisor may
perform a variety of other duties as assigned in support of the mission of
the office.

Preferred Qualifications:  
Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is
minimum.  Experience working with individuals with disabilities,
particularly with students in higher education settings; working knowledge
of ADAAA, 504 and best practices with respect to disability services in
higher education.  Demonstrated flexibility and proven interpersonal
experience working in a professional environment, with experience
interacting with faculty, medical professionals and student populations,
excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience with data
collection, knowledge of assistive technology, and demonstrated strong
computer and analytical skills.
