Hi everyone,

I wanted to thank those of you who participated in the travel seminar
in Kansas City on Saturday, especially those who traveled to attend
and/or present.

A special thank-you goes out to Debbie Eifler, who played hostess and
made sure we were fed, Erin Magoon, who let me boss her around and
helped me out at the head table, and the Kansas City Chapter for
inviting us to use their space and advertising the event to their
members.

The presentations were certainly informative, informational, and
inspiring. We had a mixture of members and guests speak about travel
. I would like to note that Jessica Snyder came all the way from New
York to talk about her experiences with her first guide dog, and Chris
Parsons, only a week out from graduating from the Colorado Center, was
willing to take time away from home and share her adventures with the
attendees. Thank you also to Rita Lynch for sharing her journey with
the cane and Erin Magoon and Erica Wolf for helping us understand the
scary world of GPS.

Seriously, guys, if you missed this event, you should be sorry. :)
But this certainly won't be our last seminar. Stay tuned for more
programs and events held by the Missouri Association of Guide Dog
Users, a strong and proud division of the National Federation of the
Blind of Missouri!
