[NFBMO] Real ID

Bryan,
Regular government ID's still work for access to federal buildings and to fly but will no longer work as of a year from now. According to the Department of Revenue it can take 10 to 30 days to receive a new real ID and I suspect longer as the deadline gets closer. Also, I wouldn't apply within 30 days of when you plan on flying as there is no guarantee the temporary paper ID will be accept by T S A.
As for replacing your Social Security Card I am glad you were successful but some folks, such as myself, for some reason do not meet the criteria as here is the message I got:

Social Security Card Replacement

We're sorry. We cannot process your request.

You cannot request a replacement card online.

Please contact your local officeif you need a replacement card.

Hi,

While people try to be helpful, we should be sure of info that is stated!

Luckily, I had my original birth certificate with the seal and was not asked to show my social security card last week at a secured building because I couldn't find it.
It only took about 30 minutes this morning to create an account then navigate the screens to request a new social security card.

Final screen:
Dear Bryan:
Thank you for requesting a replacement of your Social Security card on September 20, 2019.
You will receive another email when your request has been reviewed. Most applicants will receive their replacement Social Security card in 7 to 10 business days.

I would bet Gene could visit a DMV office and obtain the new real id by surrendering his current state id.
Bryan

Yes, you can apply for a social security card online, but you need to show them your birth certificate, so it might be easier to go into the office to do it.

I still have my Missouri ID, so I should probably change that soon. *Sniffles*

Passports are great, but if you don't already have one, or if yours has been expired for over ten years, it's over 100 dollars to get one.

Good times...

Julie
