Below is an announcement from Keith Rodderick at Rehabilitation Services for
the Blind. I believe this is a wonderful opportunity for high school and
college students. Please pass it along to those you may know.

Thank you,

Shelia

Subject: ACE Academy Promotion

I wanted to provide information on a Pre-Employment Transition training
opportunity for RSB VR clients coming up April 24th -26th in Chesterfield.
The training is ACE Academy Training and will kick off at 5:00 on April 24th
and end at Noon on the 26th. The theme will be "Self-Advocacy Through Story
Telling" with a focus on helping clients "sell" themselves, effective
notetaking, linking with other blind advocates, and learning about ADA
accommodations (among other topics). A short video can be found at
https://youtu.be/OQ64d1h5Pxs.

High School and College students are welcome. If a client is under age 18
they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. A flyer with more detail
is attached. Our goal is to have complete list of committed attendees by
March 11th. Please have interested persons contact their RSB case manager if
they would like to participate. If the individual is not receiving RSB
services, they can contact the local office to make a referral.

I would appreciate if you could share this with your members or anyone who
feel could benefit from this service. As always, I appreciate your help and
support.

Keith Roderick, Deputy Director

Family Support Division, Rehabilitation Services for the Blind
