Greetings,
At today's state board meeting we discussed the Covid19 dashboard from the
State of Missouri. In recent days they have made the dashboard totally
inaccessible. The data provided is essential to public health as it shows the
number of Covid cases throughout the state and within counties which, of
course gives important information about how safe we are and where it is safe
to travel for whatever activity we engage in.
Please, send an Email to the dashboard urging them to make the dashboard
accessible once more. Remember a lot of blind folks are in high-risk groups
including those with diabetes and over age 65.
The Email address is
COVID-19_Dashboard at governor.mo.gov
Just one or two sentences is all you need. Below is my correspondence with
them.

Eugene - Thank you for your email. Our team is looking into this matter
urgently to see what accessibility features we are able to add to the
dashboards. We can provide an update for you when we have made changes.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Best,

Subject: COVID-19 Public Health Dashboard Inquiry

As A blind person I must object to the revised Covid19 dashboard as
it is totally inaccessible to blind persons using screen reading software.
The information is as vital to blind persons as for anyone else.
In fact, it may be more vital to blind persons as a large percentage of blind
persons have diabetes or are elderly both of which are high risk groups.
Please remedy this situation.

Columbia Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Missouri
