It doesn't necessarily work like that. People can hijack an email address without the user having involvement. I had it happen to me, and we run an email server of our own. This guy was a trip, too. I saw more dialog from him on another list, and it was like the electronic version of, I am entering into your home, and holding you hostage until you give me $500 in google play gift cards.

I wanted to reach out and let you all know that my email was hacked.  I apologize for any issue this may have caused.  They got me good.  I was able to change the password and lock them out, but many of my contacts have been erased and they sent the email blast to individuals as well as lists.
