It is just over a week until the Missouri Fitness Challenge comes to an end
so hopefully everyone has been participating and either tracking their steps
or minutes of active exercise. For the Missouri 200 you need to have logged
200,000 steps during the contest or for the Show Me Grand one thousand
minutes of activity. See the details below.
To be entered for the prize you need to Email myself or Robin House no later
than5:00 pm on March 23 with the following information:
*Name
*Email address
*which challenge you did
* the number of steps or minutes you did.
Email Robin at robin at mindsrealm.net

THE MISSOURI FITNESS CHALLENGE
Members of the Missouri Affiliate are invited to participate in the Missouri
Fitness Challenge. You do not need a Fitbit to be a part of this program.
Simply track your progress throughout and report your results back to the
Sports and Recreation Committee by March 23. The program will begin at 12:01
a. m. on February 20 and conclude at 11:59 p. m. on March21. There are two
ways to participate and those who meet or exceed the goal of the program
will be put in a drawing for a wonderful prize at state convention.
The two challenges are the Missouri 200 or the Show-Me Grand.
The Missouri 200 celebrates the 200th birthday of the State of Missouri this
year. Those who accept this challenge will need to track their steps through
whatever method you have available and rack up 200 hundred thousand steps
during the challenge. It might sound like a lot but it is less than 6,700
steps a day.
If you want a slightly bigger challenge and do not wish to track steps you
can track your activity. In the Show-Me Grand Challenge the goal is to
exercise or be active for a Grand of minutes during the challenge period,
that is 1,000 minutes. This translates to just over 30 minutes a day which
can comprise of exercise, walking, jogging, yoga, or any activity that gets
you moving.
So, who wants to accept the challenge? IF so, just start moving on February
20 and report your results back to us! Of course, you can try both challenges
but there is only one entry per person, lol.
