The articles may be citing the May 28 date because that is probably the day the House Speaker and Senate President Pro-tem sign all of the bills passed on the final days.

I have seen both the 14th and 28th  for session ending. In articles in the KC Star and Jeff News Tribune they said the 28th but I see other reliable sources with the 14th as the date. Given history I believe, upon reflection, that the articles had it wrong. As usual, Cory is correct.
