Hello Federation Family and Friends
HB 1564, sponsored by Representative Dave Griffith will eliminate the
requirement that notices of action related to Blind Pension be sent out via
certified mail. This bill has been assigned to the House Committee on
Emerging Issues. A hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 22 at 6:00
p.m. We need to be sure that there are individuals present to testify in
support of the bill. Written testimonies can also be submitted via
www.house.mo.gov <http://www.house.mo.gov> . To contact a member of the
committee by phone, you can call 573-751-2000 and ask to be transferred to
any representative you need to contact.
Below is a list of the committee members. Please feel free to ask committee
members to pass this legislation which eliminates the problems certified
mail causes for blind persons and will save the State of Missouri an
estimate of over 102,300.00 a year, when passed. Please do what you can to
help advance HB 1564.
Thank you,
Shelia Wright
