A Resolution Regarding Safety and the establishment of Safety Procedures
and a Safety Committee for the National Federation of the Blind of Missouri

Whereas, the safety and well-being of members and participants of the
National Federation of the Blind of Missouri are of paramount importance;
and
Whereas, there is a need to establish safety procedures to ensure the
readiness and response to emergencies at in-person events and away from
events; and
Whereas, the absence of defined safety policies and procedures may endanger
the health and safety of individuals in case of emergencies: Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the National Federation of the Blind of Missouri in
Convention assembled this 13th day of April in the City of Kansas City,
Missouri, that
1. The affiliate shall establish a Safety Committee consisting of members
and leaders responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of
safety procedures, first aid, and CPR training;
2. The Safety Committee shall be tasked with developing clear protocols for
who needs to be contacted in the event of emergencies at in-person events
and away from events;
3. The Safety Committee shall collaborate with relevant stakeholders to
create and maintain a comprehensive safety policy that outlines procedures
for handling emergencies;
4. The affiliate shall ensure that the Safety Committee provides regular
updates and recommendations on safety procedures and policies to the
leadership and members;
5. The affiliate shall allocate resources and support for the training and
development of members and leaders in first aid, CPR, and emergency response
protocols;
6. The safety procedures and policies developed by the Safety Committee
shall be communicated to all members and participants of the National
Federation of the Blind of Missouri.
