Good Evening All;

There are several things going on with the youth programs in Missouri and I
want to take a moment to share it all with you.

* We will hold a STEM2U activity called; Scope Out STEM. It will be on
Saturday April 6 from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM at Crossroads Presbyterian
Fellowship in Maplewood (a suburb of St. Louis). This activity is for
students in grades 3 - 12. Students will learn about and participate in
projects related to the James Webb space telescope: what it looks like,
how it gets into space, how it works, and how it collects information.
Registration for the activity is now open at www.nfb.org/stem Attached
is a flyer which I hope you will share with families and professionals that
you know. We are in need of a few volunteers for this activity, don't
worry, you do not need to be STEM savvy. We will hold a meeting over Zoom
the week before to review all of the projects/experiments. Please let me
know if you are interested.

* Applications for the NFB BELL (Braille Enrichment for Literacy and
Learning) Academy are now open. BELL will be held in St. Louis and Kansas
City June 3 - 14. The theme this year is: "I Can Lead." BELL is for
students ages 4 - 12, but we can make some exceptions for students a little
older than 12. For this I have also attached a flyer that I hope you will
share with families and professionals you know. The student application
can be found at www.nfb.org/bell
Applications for BELL volunteers will open in mid March. Please reach out
to Debbie Wunder or me if you have any questions.

* This weekend we will be training 3 mentors for Mission BEAM. We
continue to look for people who would be interested in providing
mentorship to students age 14 - 21. If you are that person, or you know
someone who would be a good candidate then they should go to the website
and complete an application. These applications will remain open for the
foreseeable future. The application can be found at www.nfbmo.org/beam

* Last, but certainly not least, the affiliate is selling 50/50 raffle
tickets with the money raised going to help support these great youth
programs. The tickets are only $5 each. The drawing will be held during
the state convention in April. Of course, I would love to see you at the
convention, but you do not need to be present to win the drawing. Please
reach out to myself, any affiliate board member, or a chapter president to
purchase your ticket.

Thank you so much for supporting the youth programs. Please feel free to
reach out to me if you have any questions.

Enjoy the rest of your week!
