Great discussion!
Rik, I do my personal e-mail on gmail simply by using the basic web
inerface. So this thread is all groupled for me and when I open it I
can skip through all the relevant e-mails on one screen rather than
opening each individual e-mail.
At work again I am using Outlook 2010. I want to share some JAWS
keysrokes with Outlook that will be helpful to folks on this list.
To see what is on the "To" line, you can press alt-3, To see who all
received an e-mail you can press alt-2. That way you can tell if your
reply is going to one person or to a list like this one.
These work in an open e-mail. If you press the Control-R key to
reply, or if you start a new message, alt-3 will tell you who will be
receiving the message. Also, sometimes there are addresses in the CC
field. Those are folks who are getting a copy of an e-mail, but not
the main adressee. You can read that line with alt-4.
On the iPhone I use a bluetooth Braille device, the Focus 14 Blue.
I've also got a Zagg bluetooth keyboard that I use in case of an
emergency. I find that typing with the onscreen keyboard is
cumbersome, but very effective with one of these devices. I do texts,
e-mail, Twitter, Face Book and even take notes at meetings often with
no problems.
Best,
Dan
