Greetings,
This message is two fold. Showing cost to attend the National convention
and to give a contact for consideration of any assistance requested through
the NFB of MT. Some first timer funding is available through the National
Jernigan scholarship fund, and our NFB of MT can offerred some assistance.
A committee has been appointed to consider such requests for assistance.
Please contact me at my contact information below. If you are seriously
considering going, action needs to be taken right away.
The 2014 room rates are singles, doubles, and twins, $82; and triples
and quads, $88. In addition to the room rates there will be a tax, which at
present is 13.5 percent. This equates to $93.07 or $99.88 per day,. Main
category of rooms are 2 full beds in a room. $95.00 deposit is required at
time of reservation for "single" room.
Air fare depends on your time of reservation, airline, & time of travel.
Costs range from $530.00 to $750.00+.
Most airlines charge $25.00 luggage fee at thime of check in
for first bag.
Meals will run you what ever you eat.
Generally from about $10.00 to $50.00 per meal, depending on your appetite .
You can certainly pick up groceries from across the street or bring instant
cereal & hot drink mix from home, using a hot pot or coffee maker to heat
water.
Shuttle service from airport to hotel will run from about 36.00 and up, r/t.
Tentative costs:
$650.00, airfare
$651.49, Hotel, 7 nights, single.
$50.00 luggage fee by airlines
$36.00 Ground transport in Orlando, (Mears transport)
$250.00, meals (conservative?)
$80.00, Convention registration & Banquet, (pre registration rate).
$1717.49, Approximate cost to attend convention,. This can be tempered
somewhat by shareing a room, reducing meal costs, depending on your
imagination, but a lot of the costs are out of your hands.
