Maybe we should consider doing something like this in our own localities as a
fundraiser. Joy

2017 6 Dot Dash

Sunday, June 4th at 8:00 a.m.

Join us for a 6K through the National Federation of the Blind's hometown of
Baltimore, Maryland. The event will raise funds that are used to support our

programs that help blind people live the lives they want. For more
information and to register go to

https://nfb.org/dot-dash

Maybe each of our chapters could organize a 6k walk or run in our local
communities, find sponsors, have folks register on a certain day, and do the
walk or run. I've never organized one of these before, but I'm sure the
cities of Billings, Bozeman, and Great falls know how to do it, and we would
have to get their permission anyway. The Park and Rec Department might know
something about it, or the city would know where to direct someone who wanted
to plan one of these events, and they would know how it's done. Other walks
are organized for the March of Dimes, to combat hunger, and for other causes.
Why not us?

Live the life you want

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
