Do you know a vender who has the glasses, where we can walk with them
and see what it is all about?
That is my big dream.
The glasses are free, the cost for a month is $89.
You are working with a person giving all directions, you can not only
use them for walking, but in the grocery store and mall plus much more.
This is so exciting for me.
This does not take place of the dog or cane, it helps you with traveling.
Just hope this dream comes true.
If I had a pair I would want to share how they work, but we don't.

Original message:
> Hi there, Missoula friends.

> Our convention is in Bozeman September 22-23, 2017. We have Thursday
> evening, September 21, in our block of rooms for $93.00 plus tax, for those
> who will need to stay overnight Thursday evening, which in my mind will be
> many of us, since we are almost all coming in to Bozeman from other places.

> I am waiting to hear from three technology vendors as to whether they are
> coming. If they are, I think it would be nice to have some time for them to
> demonstrate their wares, either before the convention in the lobby of the
> hotel for our benefit as well as the benefit of the public, or perhaps to
> take some time during the actual convention to demonstrate a few things for
> us. Right now, the convention board meeting will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday
> afternoon, but that may change. Nothing is written in stone yet. If the
> vendors don't show up, then we could fill the time with something else, and
> start the convention at nine on Friday morning. I'm sorry this may sound
> vague to some of you would-be travelers to Bozeman, but I'm sure things will
> firm up the closer we get to convention.

> With transportation to convention becoming more and more of an obstacle to
> participation, I am wondering if anyone who really does want to come from
> Missoula could let it be known on this list, and perhaps some of you could
> organize a car pool or a van or some conveyance or other to get you to
> convention, including those who do not drive. There is a couple who live in
> Corvallis and wouldn't mind connecting with someone in Missoula for
> transportation to and from the convention, but there is no way they can get
> there otherwise. The bus from Missoula has a twenty hour layover in Butte on
> the way to Bozeman. It does not stop in Bozeman at night, or should I say 2
> or 3 in the morning, whenever it goes through there. It only stops there
> during the day for just a drop off, or as the bus driver called it last time
> I took the bus, a tuck and run. If anyone knows of anyone who might be
> interested in going to the convention in Bozeman, please spread the word. If
> you can all share the transportation arrangements and the cost, getting to
> Bozeman may actually be doable for some of you, financially and otherwise.
> Also, keep in mind that I would like to eventually start a Missoula chapter
> of the NFB of Montana, if there is enough interest. The state convention
> usually travels around the state, so if there is a chapter in Missoula, we
> may at some point have a convention there.

> Friends helping friends. Friends making new friends.

> Live the life you want

> The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
> characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
> expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
> between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
> blindness is not what holds you back.
