Chapters usually follow what the State and National does. Looking from a marketing perspective it’s a giant pyramid set up which works well financially when managed properly.

They are reviewed at the state level. I don't remember if it's by the board, or if there's a committee; Richard would know those details better.

I would tend to agree that convention assistance should be left to the state and the chapters and divisions should contribute to the state affiliate to support that effort and perhaps there could be a group or team at the state level who could review and determine who would get scholarship assistance. I do not know what criteria is being used by the state to allocate convention assistance or whether it is first come/first served or based on who’s who or who you know.

I think in order for me to give a full opinion the names of the individuals need to be included as well. Are these the same folks who went to the national convention? It may be more respectful to send this out to the board only. As I have explained in the past, I am against funding the same people to go to convention every year. In fact, I am against our chapter funding folks to go to conventions at all; the state has a scholarship program for this purpose and we should be donating to that instead. I understand that certain repeat beneficiaries of this funding might not be happy, but it would give folks who have not had a chance to go an opportunity.

Greetings board members at the Miami Valley chapter we have some and finish business to take care of. Please read the forwarded information that I have asked Tim Jannings to provide to the board. Some of this information was discussed in the June meeting we did not follow up, the September meeting no one requested scholarship assistance, although the fun raiser is designated for such purposes 1/3 for the national 1/3 for the state and 1/3 for the chapter to make necessary donations. As we all know we have some members that need financial assistance we have some members that requested every year, no matter why they requested we must provide something if the funds are available. We have six members who have requested scholarship assistance and the state is gracious enough to provide that assistance and has provided it to the same six people for the national as well so is so fair that we support the state with donations for the cars as well as for door prizes. I would like for each of you to review the statement that has been before you and if you have any objections please explain why you object or at least give a rationale for your objection and if not I am strongly recommending that we follow what is outlined in the letter the only exception I would make I would only offer the scholarship refund of $40 for the banquet ticket to those that have requested scholarships we have 11 people that will be attending the State conference only six has requested financial assistance., And they must verify that they attended the banquet in order to get the $40 refund. I hope you’re having a wonderful wonderful day, I just completed a conversation radio invitation with Paul Dressel from Cincinnati and it was absolutely wonderful I had a great time and an opportunity to promote the Miami Valley chapter as I always do. Have a wonderful day if you need to talk to me off-line please do so if not please just reply with a yes or no with a rash and now thank you sincerely Dr. Carolyn Peters

Please respond ASAP thank you

Hi Dr Peters

Just to recap our conversation, our profit from the spaghetti dinner and sale of key chains less associated expenses was $1,127. That is the same number I provided Robbie for the Gavel report. If we spend $50 each for the Ten Brook, Jernigan, White cane, Imagination funds and $50 for state convention door prizes that amount to $250. In addition to the $250 we will make a pledge at the state convention for money for the movement for $100 for a grand total of $350. We spent $350 for National convention assistance for a total of $700 leaving $427 for state convention assistance which would just about cover the cost a $40 banquet ticket for 11 members. The reimbursement for the convention banquet would be after the fact. Hope this all makes sense.

Tim
