I think it is great that Richard has agreed to take over this role with 
little notice.  However I think it is important that we encourage other 
members to consider becoming a member of the chapter board of directors.  We 
have several new members who would be well suited to become board members 
rather than the same people serving on the board year after year.  People's 
lives change and interest change and our lives move on.  There may be 
members of the current board including myself who are considering not 
running for a board seat in the next election, so it is important that we 
have other members who could step in to fill a board seat at a moments 
notice.

Our illustrious president of the ohio affiliate, Richard payne, Has agreed 
to be our chapter secretary effective April 2020.

I would like to say thank you to those who were considering the position and 
willing to step up to the plate, sort of speak.

I must say, that I am more than honored as well as pleased, that President 
payne would even consider the opportunity. We all know how much work he has 
before him and like all members of the ohio affiliate and board members of 
every chapter, our positions can sometimes feel thanklessAnd overwhelming. 
But we manage to continue to struggle with compassion and a willingness to 
serve. Yet, we must consider the effects it can have on us as an individual. 
So, when you see Robbie Spangler, please thank him for his service and his 
expertise that he has rendered to the Miami Valley Chapter it has been 
greatly appreciate it.
