TECHNOLOGY SHOWCASE

The National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska is partnering with the
Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired to offer a
technology showcase at the 2011 NFBN state convention. The showcase will be
held on Friday, October 14 from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Cornhusker
Marriott in Lincoln.

What are you fellow Nebraskans using to get their work done keep up with
their peers and have a little fun along the way?  Would some kind of
technology help you excel at what you do or explore something new that you
haven't tried before? What are people using to compete with their peers on
the basis of equality in the workplace?

Come find out what tools for life people are talking about.  How do they
work?  Are they worth the time and effort to learn?  And Why would I want
that! We will be featuring.

*        Softening the impact of hard-copy print

*        Braille displays 

*        Note taking devices

*        Access to electronic books

*        Mobile phones

*        Resources for independent learning and self-directed study

*        Other useful goodies

Come join us for networking and the opportunity to get your hands on the
tools and technologies you've been curious about.  Staff from the Nebraska
Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired and our International Braille
and Technology Center will be on hand to demonstrate various products and
answer questions. Other users will also be available to share their wisdom
and expertise
