WALK FOR INDEPENDENCE 2012

NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND OF NEBRASKA

"WALKING ALONE AND MARCHING TOGETHER"

Each year the National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska holds a walk
for independence to educate the public and demonstrate that we are the voice
of the nation's blind, and this year is no exception. Walk for Independence
2012 will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012 on each end of the state. Below
is information on both the Lincoln and Chadron walks.

Eastern Walk - Sponsored by the NFB of Nebraska Lincoln Chapter

Walkers are to meet at St. Mark's church at 1309 R Street at 9:00 a.m. CDT.
Breakfast will be served during registration. The walk will kick off at
10:00 a.m. in the heart of downtown Lincoln, continue across the historical
University of Nebraska campus and pass through the beautiful Haymarket
before returning to downtown and St Mark's. The walk is approximately 3
miles and a vehicle will be available to hand out water and pick up weary
walkers. Lunch will be served after the walk with audio of the Nebraska
Spring game and socialization to follow.

The cost to walk is $25.00. All walkers are encouraged to collect pledges
and bring them the day of the walk to be eligible for prizes. A pledge form
can be found attached to this email. Even if you are unable to walk please
consider supporting a walker and participating in the walk in other
capacities.

The walk is quickly approaching and I advise each of you to make plans to
attend! This won't be any ordinary walk. This is a walk for equality,
opportunity and security. This is a walk for true independence and we the
blind will succeed!

Sincerely,

Jamie K. Forbis, Secretary

National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska
