We will kick-off our 55th annual Convention with an informal gathering on
Thursday evening March 27th when we will gather at the Marriott to share
light hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and convivial conversation.

The work of convention begins on Friday morning March 28th and concludes at
12:00 noon on Sunday March 30th. Our 2025 Convention is designed to provide
each one of us with the tools and information needed to become the very best
we can be. You will learn about the skills, approaches and techniques we can
apply in every phase of our lives as blind people with the National
Federation of the Blind of Nebraska to encourage, advise and support us,
through good times and hard times alike. These life phases will include:

Blind students- From elementary school through graduate school, no matter
your age; we have members who have walked the halls you walk.

Parents-Whether you are the sighted parent of a blind child or a blind
parent raising sighted children; we have members who have been right where
you are.

Job Seekers: If you are looking for employment in your chosen career or
needing to work to pay the bills right now; our members have read those
rejection letters and kept on submitting applications.

Professionals-Perhaps you are one of the first blind people to work in your
field, or your profession is one you've had for years but blindness recently
came along to disrupt your life; Yes our members have experienced each of
these situations as well. .

Seniors-Some of you will have lived your whole lives as blind people while
others are new to the challenges of vision loss; we know how each of these
realities feels.

In all of these phases we have members ready to share what worked for them
when facing what you face. This convention will feature experts in each of
these areas who can share the experiences and lessons learned from blind
people across the Country and abroad, bringing answers to the most pressing
questions of today.

Stand by for updates every month or so, until we reach January when we will
update you more frequently. My hope is that each of you will experience a
convention filled with learning and laughing; reconnecting with old friends
and making new ones; preparing you to step back into your life with a host
of tools and techniques that will help you live that life to the fullest!

My very best regards to you,

Christine Boone, Convention Arrangements Chair
