[NFBNJ] Being Thankful

Greetings, NJ Federation Family and Friends:

Thanksgiving approaches and many of us are winding down from an amazing
convention. I hope you enjoyed the topics and informative presentations. I
am honored and humbled to have been elected your president. I look forward
to our future.


I’d like to start a National Federation of the Blind of New Jersey
tradition of expressing what we are thankful for. This has been a childhood
tradition my mother started as each person at the table would give thanks
and show appreciation.


Since we can’t gather in person, here is my virtual expression of thanks
for 2020. I am thankful for:

Life and living it to the fullest;


my family, especially my grandson Lucas Mathew, son Logan; sister Rosa who
is recovering from two major spinal surgeries; and our dog Rayna
close friends;
the creation of the National Federation of the Blind 80 years ago this
month and all we have accomplished;
the leadership and direction from our National organization under President
Mark Riccobono;
Joseph Ruffalo, President emeritus and 1st Vice President for building and
strengthening our affiliate;
The dedication, hard work and time of our leaders; partners and state
agencies
Being elected President
And most importantly the NFBNJ membership!


I encourage all of you to reflect on what you are thankful for and
share it with
friends and family. Know that each one of you is important, special and
valued.  Believe in yourself, share the NFB and the NFBNJ with others and
Live the Life You Want!
